I’ve been teaching saxophone for over 25 years, and it remains a central part of my work as a musician. My lessons are grounded in strong fundamentals—tone production, technique, articulation, and musicality—while also diving deeply into jazz improvisation and classical repertoire. I tailor each lesson to the individual, whether a student wants to focus on straight-ahead jazz, classical performance, contemporary styles, or a mix of everything. Because I actively perform across multiple genres, I’m able to guide students with real-world insight and help them develop versatility and confidence in any musical setting.
One of the most important aspects of learning an instrument is developing a clear concept of sound, and that’s something best achieved through studying with an experienced professional. Good habits, proper tone, and musical understanding are much easier to build correctly from the start than to fix later. I work with students of all ages and skill levels—from complete beginners to advanced players—and emphasize not just playing the instrument, but truly understanding it. Finding the right teacher matters, which is why I offer a free 30-minute introductory lesson. It’s a chance for us to meet, talk about your goals, and see if we’re a good fit. Feel free to reach out by email to set it up.
